In one line: PresetDock has no accounts, no login and no telemetry. Your preset library stays on your computer. The only thing that ever leaves — and only if you use the AI assistant — is the question you type, along with a few lines of metadata about the candidate presets.

Who processes your data

The data controller is Alessio Vinci, VAT number [VAT NUMBER — TO BE FILLED IN], [BUSINESS ADDRESS — TO BE FILLED IN], Italy. For any request: info@presetdock.com.

What never leaves your computer

Worth listing, because it is the longest part:

There is no telemetry of any kind, and that is not a promise you have to take on trust: unplug the network and everything except the AI assistant keeps working exactly as before.

What does leave, when and why

1. Trial and licence check

At startup the app asks the service how much of the trial is left and whether your licence code is valid. That request carries:

Legal basis: performance of the contract (art. 6.1.b GDPR) for the licence, and legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f) in preventing indefinite use of the free trial and abuse of the service.

2. AI assistant searches

This happens only when you press “✨ Ask”. What leaves is the question you typed and, for the candidate presets selected on your own computer, one line of metadata each: preset name, amp, brand, effects, band, character. The files themselves never leave, nor do paths, nor your library as a whole.

The request goes through the PresetDock service (which holds the model key, so that it does not have to ship inside the application) and from there to OpenAI. If you would rather bypass my service entirely, you can configure your own OpenAI key in the app: the request then goes straight to them and I see nothing.

Legal basis: performance of the contract, at your explicit request with each question.

3. Automatic updates

The app periodically checks GitHub for a newer version. In that request GitHub sees your IP address and the version requested, as with any download.

4. The website

presetdock.com sets no cookies, runs no analytics and profiles nobody. The hosting provider records technical connection data for security and operation.

5. Registering to download

To download the application from the site we ask for an email address. It is stored together with the page language and the date; your IP address is used only to rate-limit abuse of the form, and its trace deletes itself within 48 hours. The email is used to tell you about news that matters for the application; promotional messages are sent only if you tick the optional box, which you can ignore without losing the download.

If you choose “Continue with Google”, Google confirms your address to us and processes your data under its own notice; all we receive is the verified email — not your password, not anything else from the account.

Legal basis: legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f GDPR) for the download registration and abuse prevention; consent (art. 6.1.a) for promotional messages, withdrawable at any time by writing or through the link in every message.

What is kept, and for how long

DataWhereHow long
Installation identifier and machine code, with the first-seen date Service store (Cloudflare) As long as needed to enforce the trial period
Licence code, credits bought and used Service store (Cloudflare) For the life of the licence, which does not expire
IP address, for the daily request cap Service store (Cloudflare) Deleted automatically after 24 hours
Text of assistant questions Not stored by me Subject to the model provider's own policies
Email left to download, with language, date and consent Our own records (Cloudflare) Until you ask for its deletion
Purchase data (email, payment, invoice) Lemon Squeezy, who is the seller Per their notice and tax obligations

I hold your email address only if you leave it: at download, by writing to me, or through a purchase that makes helping you necessary. To have it deleted, just ask.

Who it is shared with

Some of these providers are based in the United States: transfers rely on the safeguards provided for by the GDPR (standard contractual clauses or the EU–US adequacy framework). Nothing is ever sold or handed over for marketing purposes, by me, to anyone.

Your rights

You have the right to access the data concerning you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to processing, and to receive it in a readable form. Write to info@presetdock.com: to answer, I will need your licence code or installation identifier, because without one of the two I have no way of knowing which records are yours — a limitation of the system, but also the reason it is so unintrusive.

You can stop using the AI assistant at any time: nothing else in the application needs a connection. If you believe the processing breaches the GDPR, you may lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority, or with the Italian Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
