Licence terms and conditions of sale

Last updated: 13 August 2026

This document explains what you get when you install or buy PresetDock, and what the rules are in both directions. It is written to be read: wherever a sentence can be said in plain English, it is.

1. Who is behind this

PresetDock is developed and published by Alessio Vinci, VAT number [VAT NUMBER — TO BE FILLED IN], registered at [BUSINESS ADDRESS — TO BE FILLED IN], Italy (“I”, “me”, “the author”). Contact: info@presetdock.com.

2. What PresetDock is

A Windows application that catalogues, searches and organises the preset files you already own. PresetDock does not contain, supply or distribute anyone's presets: it reads the files already on your computer and builds a local index of them.

You are responsible for the files you import. If a file is covered by someone else's rights, cataloguing it with PresetDock changes nothing about your position regarding those rights.

PresetDock is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Line 6, Yamaha Guitar Group or any other manufacturer. Trademarks mentioned belong to their respective owners and are used only to indicate compatibility.

3. The free trial

On first launch a 14-day trial begins with every feature unlocked, no credit card and no sign-up. When it ends the app switches to read-only: the library you have catalogued stays visible, preset cards still open and presets still open in your own software; search, filters, browse and import are paused. Nothing is deleted, and everything comes back the moment you enter a valid licence code.

The trial is counted against a random installation identifier, so reinstalling the application does not restart the 14 days.

4. What you are buying

You are not buying the software: you are buying a licence to use it. With your purchase you receive by email a code in the form PD-XXXX-YYYY that grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence with no expiry date, covering:

The code is your licence, so keep it. Anyone who has it can activate the app — treat it like a password and do not post it anywhere.

What you may not do

In case of a serious, uncorrected breach the licence may be revoked: the code stops activating the app and any remaining credits are lost. This is a measure for abuse, not for mistakes — I write to you before revoking anything.

5. AI search credits

Searching with the assistant consumes credits, which are sold in packs. Credits:

Everything else in the application — text search, filters, browse, import — runs on your own computer and consumes nothing. If you prefer, you can connect your own OpenAI key: those requests never touch the PresetDock service and use no credits.

6. Who sells to you, and your invoice

Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, acting as merchant of record: for tax purposes they are the seller. They take the payment, apply the VAT or sales tax of your country and issue your receipt or invoice. Their terms therefore also apply to the purchase itself.

Prices shown on the site are in euros. The final amount may vary with the tax of your country and the currency chosen at checkout.

7. Refunds and right of withdrawal

This is covered in full in the refund policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: there is a 14-day free trial precisely so you can decide before paying, and if something goes wrong after purchase you ask for a refund by writing to me.

8. Warranty and liability

PresetDock is provided “as is”. I do my best to make it work and to make sure it damages nothing, but I cannot guarantee it is free of defects or that it runs on every configuration in existence.

One concrete point worth stating: the application reads your preset files, it does not modify or delete them. Keeping a backup of your library remains your responsibility, as with any data you care about.

To the extent permitted by law, my total liability towards you cannot exceed what you actually paid for the licence. Nothing in these terms limits liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, nor any statutory consumer rights that cannot be waived.

9. Updates and service availability

Application updates are included in the licence, but there is no commitment to develop any particular feature or to release versions for other operating systems.

The AI search service depends on external providers and may change, shrink or shut down. Should it shut down permanently, I will give reasonable notice and refund credits you bought and did not use. The rest of the application keeps working without the service: it runs on your computer.

10. Changes to these terms

I may update this document, for instance if a provider or the product line-up changes. The version that applies to your purchase is the one published on the day you bought: changes do not apply retroactively to existing customers, unless in their favour.

11. Governing law and disputes

Italian law applies. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence and the right to bring proceedings before the court of the place where you live, as well as access to the European online dispute resolution platform. Before any of that, though, write to me: almost everything gets sorted out with one email.
